Come see us at our new home!

Hello Neighbors-

First, I want to sincerely thank you for your time and attention over the past year. We have broken new ground in what it means to be a 'local community,' and seen a glimpse of what a people can do when they are connected at a hyper-local level. It has been a fantastic learning experience, and I am excited to let you know how we are applying those learnings.

Fatdoor, the first stage of our experience, what we called a private alpha, is complete. During the testing period, some of you told us that the name "fatdoor" may not be appropriate in all contexts. We also heard that you wanted more control over how you share your personal information. When you give us feedback - we take it seriously, so we are leaving behind the things you don't like and moving on to our new home with the things you loved: connecting with local people, exploring neighborhoods and above all making it easy to plan local activities, from block parties to fund raisers. You will soon see all of this at our new site called Center'd (http://www.centerd.com).

At Center'd we aim to make planning things with your friends and neighbors easy; from basic local activities like figuring out what to do this weekend to more complex plans like organizing a school event that needs volunteers, Center'd will provide tools to help. You will also be able to connect to others you know, discover new places in neighborhoods around you, and plan any event or activity. We call it 'collaborative planning,' and we can't wait for you to put these tools to use.

We have been working hard putting the finishing touches on our First Draft (otherwise known as "beta"), and will be inviting you to join the new experience soon.

Thank you, and I look forward to connecting with you on Center'd. In the meantime if you have any questions or feedback, send us an email at feedback -at- centerd.com!
